Code Inspection Process

Glendale’s Code Compliance division is responsible for investigating concerns related to general nuisance, health and safety, property maintenance, rental property, and zoning codes.  If you do not opt-in with notification preferences, you will not receive updates regarding the outcome of this issue.

When a concern is received, an initial inspection will be conducted within three (3) business days.  Depending on the nature of the concern, multiple attempts to observe the issue may be required.

If a violation is not observed, an explanation will be attached to this request and the request will be closed.

If a violation is observed, appropriate enforcement action will be taken on the property.  The amount of time given to correct a violation depends on the issue; but it can be up to thirty (30) days.  Violators may also request an extension of time to correct.

Most issues are resolved through voluntary compliance.  In some situations a case may take several months to resolve if a violation results in court proceedings or extenuating circumstances require additional time to correct.
