The City of Glendale manages two separate drain systems, the sanitary sewer that goes through a water treatment plant and a Phase I Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) that discharges runoff from urban areas, including any pollutants, directly into Arizona’s waterways.

To reduce pollutants discharged from the MS4, Glendale maintains a Stormwater Management Program (SWMP) that includes the following:
-MS4 Permit from Arizona Department of Environmental Quality 
-Stormwater Annual Report
-Stormwater Enforcement Response Plan
