Traffic Signals
Traffic signals are used to control right-of-way between vehicles, bicycles, and pedestrians at roadway intersections. These are the lights that turn green, yellow and red. The Transportation Department adheres to the guidance set forth in the federal Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and traffic signals will only be installed after an engineering study is performed.
